Reclaimed Sculpture: Land, Sea, Air

Reclaimed Sculpture: Land, Sea, Air explores the notion of sustainability in material circularity and efforts towards achieving true sustainability
The natural motif of land, air and sea fusing and emerging upwards is translated through photographic collages, wood pattern designs and sculptural forms. These forms of nature are visually extended through the use of mirrors as the forms of nature morph and change when viewed from different angles.
It is intentional that the three pillars are in different heights. To illustrate the pillars are trying to reach the skies (Air).

The wood are made into different shapes and sizes, to make a ‘3D tile’ effect on one side, creating depth and dynamics to bring out the ‘land’ motif.

The mirror act as the ‘sea’ that reflects the surrounding moss island and forest imagery.
Materials used include reclaimed mirror, wood and interior parts repurposed from the defunct Mercedes-Benz Concept Store.
The pillars are originally hollow, so we used recycled plywood to build a cover on top of the pillars. We printed a scenery layout of the skies on top.
